EMT successfully delivered and installed a high-capacity dual-line Weighcont blending system for Agrohellas S.A., one of Greece’s leading fertilizer producers. This installation was fully tailored to meet the company’s growing production demand and included two independent blending lines with integrated liquid coating, full transport, screening, and packaging systems.
Each line includes an 8-hopper Weighcont Continuous Blender, equipped with stainless steel dosing conveyors and custom hopper volumes to handle a wide variety of raw materials. Both lines are fitted with inclined blending screws that ensure steady material flow, regardless of bulk density.
By installing two fully autonomous blending lines side-by-side, Agrohellas gains significant flexibility: both lines can run independently or in parallel, enabling high throughput during peak season while allowing product-specific formulations to run simultaneously.
At the heart of the installation is EMT’s liquid coating unit, complete with a stainless steel worm cavity pump, continuous weigh-based dosing, and a spray plate with open holes and nozzle options. This setup allows Agrohellas to apply inhibitors or additives directly to the fertilizer during blending — without interrupting the flow. This not only increases operational efficiency but also improves the consistency of treated products.
After coating and blending, the product passes through a 120 m³/h fertilizer vibrating screen that removes lumps and ensures uniform particle size. The screened material is then conveyed through a network of stainless steel belt and screw conveyors, with built-in rotation sensors, emergency stops, and safety enclosures for smooth and safe operation.
The entire system is centrally managed using EMT’s visualization and control software, complete with UPS backup, remote support access, and automated flow control. The installation is pre-cabled and fully integrated — designed for efficient commissioning and reliable daily operation with minimal operator input.
